We think a child's mind is ready for learning well before they walk through our doors. Children explore their own curiosity and creativity through hands-on experiences, and we foster a love of inquiry through play. We guide students toward becoming independent thinkers by developing their ability to self-regulate. HLC Kids Academy is grounded in the notion that an educated mind has limitless potential. We are so much more than a daycare center.
In the rooms, that looks like children moving through materials at their own pace, with teachers close by to notice what holds their attention and to ask a question that keeps the thinking going. We encourage hands-on exploration, and we foster a love of inquiry through play. Teachers guide rather than direct, helping students build the self-regulation that lets them stay with a task and work alongside others.

How we work with families
At pickup, we tell parents what we noticed: a child who tried a new material, a child who worked through a disagreement with words. Teachers facilitate communication and conflict resolution, experiences that teach children to reason and compromise. Those moments build skills for successful relationships later. From the moment a baby is born, that child is ready to learn, and parents and caregivers both help maximize that potential through stimulation.
New children and families are welcomed gradually, and we stay in close contact with parents during those first weeks. We believe a child's mind is ready for learning well before they enter our doors, so we start building trust from day one. We keep our center family-oriented and create bonds with children and parents that last long beyond graduation from our program.
