Get in touch
Call 201-974-9800 or email maddy@hudsonlearning.com. Tell us your child's age and the days you need. We will tell you what is open and what comes next. From there, you can set a time to see the room.

Tour the room
Come see the classroom your child would join and meet the teachers who run it. Watch how the room is set up and where children eat, rest, and play. Ask anything you want to know. Then you can decide if it feels right for your family.

Enroll and settle in
Finish the enrollment forms and plan a first week that fits your child's routine. We can start with shorter days if that helps. You will know who greets your child and who to ask for at pickup.
What to have ready
Have your enrollment forms ready, along with a health form and your child's immunization record. Write down emergency contacts and the names of people allowed to pick up your child. Bring these on your first visit if you can.
Pack a full change of clothes and label everything with your child's name. Add outdoor gear for the season and whatever your child needs for nap. A small comfort object from home can help too.
The first weeks
The first days are short on purpose. You might bring your baby for an hour, then a little longer. Bring a familiar object from home, a small blanket or a soft toy that smells like your house. A teacher greets your child by name at the door and takes time to learn the cues. Rocking, holding, feeding, singing, and playing are how the bond starts.
At pickup, a teacher tells you what your child did that day. Maybe your baby babbled, crawled, or took a first step. You hear how naps and bottles went. It usually takes a week or two before the drop-off feels calm. Some children settle faster, some need more time, and both are fine. Ask us anything about how it is going.

What ages do you take?
Children from aged 6 weeks to pre-K as well as school-aged children.
Can we visit before deciding?
Yes. A tour is how most families decide, and children are welcome to come along.
What should my child bring on the first day?
Pack a full change of clothes, including socks, in a bag with your child's name on it. A comfort item helps, like a small blanket or a soft toy for rest time. Label bottles, cups, and anything that goes home at night. If your child uses diapers or wipes, bring those too, and ask us what else the room needs.
How do you handle the first weeks?
Most children start with shorter days and build up to a full schedule. Bring a familiar object from home so your child has something known in a new room. At pickup, a teacher tells you how your child ate, slept, and played, and what they noticed about your child's mood and new skills.
What does a typical day include?
A day is built around a steady rhythm. Children arrive and settle into the room, then move through play and hands-on learning, with meals and rest in between. Outdoor time and quiet activities break up the morning and afternoon. Our teachers guide children to explore their natural curiosity and to build independence. Pickup closes the day, and a teacher shares how it went.
How will I know how my child is doing?
Teachers talk with you at pickup about how the day went. They can tell you what your child played, how they ate and rested, and any new skill they noticed. If you want more detail, ask. We will tell you what we saw.
Do you offer part-time or flexible schedules?
Schedules depend on your child's age group and what openings we have. Ask us what is available for your child, and we will walk you through the options.
What if there is no place right now?
You can ask to be told when a place opens for your child's age. We will let you know as soon as one does.
What should I ask on the tour?
Ask about hours, meals, and how pickup works. Ask how the first weeks are handled and how the day is paced for your child's age. You can also ask to see the room and meet the teachers who would care for your child. Bring your questions to the tour and we will answer them.
