Programs by age

A childcare room with two wooden cribs, a wall-mounted mirror, bulletin boards, hanging paper lanterns, and a blue play mat holding a small tub and toys.

6 weeks

INFANT

A baby is ready to learn from the start. In the infant room, caregivers rock, hold, feed, sing and play with each baby. Those ordinary moments help a baby grow emotionally, physically and intellectually. Every day builds on what your baby can already do.

A white fence with an open gate displaying a sign reading 'MAIN ENTRANCE' stands on a sidewalk in front of a building and trees.

TRANSITION TO YOUNG TODDLER

Young toddlers get room to move and explore safely. Teachers know attention spans are short, so they plan a mix of projects and games. Children move between activities at their own pace. Teachers stay close, guiding and encouraging as they go.

A childcare bathroom with a small sink, two child-sized toilets, a red paper towel dispenser, a handwashing poster, and a wall shelf holding diapers and wipes.

HLC TRIMIS

Two-year-olds are curious about everything. Teachers give them new chances to explore inside a safe room. Children learn through hands-on experiences, not worksheets. They dig into whatever catches their interest. Teachers follow that curiosity and help it grow.

Children nearing 3 years old

HLC JUNIORS

Children nearing three start to manage their own activities. The classroom becomes child-initiated and teacher-directed, with the curriculum refined to prepare them for more structured learning. Exploration stays hands-on, keeping curiosity and creativity alive. Teachers guide students toward independent thinking and self-regulation.

A wooden storage shelf holds books, bottles, toys, and plants in a classroom setting with a polka-dot rug on the floor.

4-year-olds

PRE-KINDERGARTEN

Pre-K builds on what your child already knows. Inquiry-based learning advances literacy and math skills. Children ask questions, test ideas and work through problems. They leave our program with the academic skills they need for Kindergarten and beyond.

AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM

Our After School Program serves children in grades K-5 at our 57th St location, with homework help at the center of the afternoon. The room is relaxed but structured, so children can settle in and finish their work. We pick up from PS#2. Ask us for the details that matter to your family, such as pickup and the daily schedule.

children in grades Pre K4 thru 6th

HOLIDAY & SCHOOL CLOSURE CARE

On scheduled school closings, we offer care for children in grades Pre K4 through 6th, such as Teacher's Convention week and Easter/Spring Break. Check the school calendar for dates. In severe weather, care may not be available. Ask us for details.

Remote Learning Helpdesk

The Hudson Learning Center offers a Covid-conscious solution for families facing remote learning. With the help of our knowledgeable staff, students get the one-on-one support they need to learn effectively. That means parents are dismissed from their classroom duties for the day. Ask us how the helpdesk works and what your child should bring.
